Everyone should watch this. It touches base on a lot of points in the creative industries. When people have access to all this equipment and technology, true talent gets lost. Everyone can do anything. It doesn’t take learning the basics or acquiring skills anymore. When everyone’s special, no one is. It’s somewhat depressing, but then it’s an inspiring challenge. Depressing because it’s doesn’t take any skill to produce art which leads to a overbearing sea of mediocrity. Inspiring, well to me anyways, because now I am challenged to try to create work that is thought provoking and makes the sun shine out of my ass. It challenges me to swim up past the bullshit and hop onto the boat that’ll take me somewhere far away from the mediocre.
